In short
This page explains what data this application processes, what it stores on your device and who it talks to. It is written for Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy).
There are no accounts, no advertising cookies, no profiling and no data sales. The addresses you type are sent to the mapping services to calculate the route. Everything else stays in your browser, apart from the visit measurement described below if you allow it.
What is stored on your device
The application itself writes no HTTP cookies; it uses browser local storage (localStorage), which the ePrivacy rules treat exactly like cookies. Google Analytics does set cookies, if you allow it. Both are listed here:

Third parties it connects to
To calculate a route and draw the map your browser connects directly to these services. They receive your IP address, which is inherent to any internet request. We send them no identifier of our own.
Your location is used only to fill in the starting point of a route. It is never stored, and goes nowhere except the map service that turns it into an address.

Audience measurement
If you allow it, visits are measured with Google Analytics 4, provided in Europe by Google Ireland Limited acting as our processor. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning visit and sends the data to Google, who keep it for up to 14 months. Google Analytics shortens IP addresses before storing them. We have switched off Google Signals and advertising personalisation, so the data is used to count usage rather than to build an advertising profile. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set until you accept, and withdrawing your consent deletes the cookies again.
What is recorded: the page viewed, the language, the build (desktop or mobile), the referring site, an approximate location derived from the IP address, the device and browser type and, when a route is calculated, the number of countries, a distance band and the calculation time. Addresses, coordinates and form contents are never recorded.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary storage and the calls to the mapping services rely on performing the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and the Art. 5(3) ePrivacy exemption). Preferences and audience measurement rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
You can withdraw consent with one click from the link in the footer, and erase everything stored by clearing site data in your browser. Because no identifier or personal data is kept on the server, there is no profile to access, rectify or erase. You have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority.
Retention
Your privacy choice is asked again after 12 months. Raw audience records are deleted after 90 days; only aggregated daily totals are kept.
